Have You Ever Felt Like You Were Meant For Something More?
Like there’s something missing or that you have so much more inside of
you to pour into, empower, encourage and uplift yourself and others? Well, I had that same feeling in the early part of 2019 while I was
seeing my last patient of the day as a Dental Hygienist in Columbia,
SC.
Not that I wasn’t making a great living because I definitely was,
but I was still feeling very much unappreciated, under paid and I felt
like I was no longer serving my true purpose. Although, I was still
helping and serving people (which I’ve always known I was meant to do) I
knew there had to be something else that would give me more
satisfaction and a feeling of genuine fulfillment. Not to mention, I
did not "really" want to be cleaning people’s teeth until I was able to
retire at 65 or 70 years old.
Oh Wait, "Retirement", what retirement?
I didn’t actually have a retirement plan working as a Dental Hygienist in the Private Practice I had been working at for the past 11 years.
A Rough Start
At the young age of 17, I became a mother. It was very important to me
to raise my own child and not put that responsibility on my mom.
Instead of going directly to college after finishing high school, I
decided that I would need to begin working full-time to support my
daughter and move out into my own place. Thankfully, although my
daughter’s father and I had broken up about a year after she was born,
he was still very present in her life to make things not as difficult as
they could have been.
After almost a year, her father and I decided to give it another chance. Well, we had another child several years later, a son and we have now been together for 24 years and married for 15 years. Who would of "thunk" it? Lol… While some people would have used being a teenage mom as an excuse to not be successful, it was actually my "WHY" to keep pushing and to be a better me!
I decided not to let my circumstances punk me out of the life that I knew I wanted for myself and my family. I went to a technical college and received an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene. A few years later I received a Bachelor Degree in Social Work and a Master Degree in Social Work. I did not anticipate it being so difficult to find a job after obtaining a Master Degree that would have a comparable salary to that of the Dental Hygienist salary which I only has an Associate Degree for. So, I continued working as a Dental Hygienist but still continuing to work part-time and volunteer as a social worker to still be able to make a difference in the lives of others from so many different cultural backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses.
The Mind Shift
In 2019, I began reading some personal development books and
listening to some videos on the subject as well. In doing so, I
stumbled upon Bob Proctor whom I started following and listening to
quite frequently. This changed my entire mindset and the way I thought
about everything. I began believing that the things I once believed to
be impossible for me to have in my life were not only, but INEVITABLE!
Now, I wasn’t just dreaming of being my own boss, owning my own business
and living the lifestyle of my dreams. I knew with certainty that I
would one day have those things.
One day my cousin invited me over to her house to see a business presentation. This was the second time I was exposed to Network Marketing but this time was different. When they started discussing the amount of money I could potentially make with this company and there were actually people there at her house that were the proof that this money was being made, they had my full attention. Not only was my now upline leader, making more than a quarter of a million dollars a year in this business but she was helping people on her team do the same. This was the detail that sealed the deal for me. I was in! Not only could I build the lifestyle that I always knew was meant for me but I could also help others create the lifestyle of their dreams and a legacy for their families.
Today
I am now a proud Business Owner and Entrepreneur with an amazing
Network Marketing company that has changed my life and countless lives
of others all over the world. I am truly excited to be able to
experience the lifestyle that I have always wanted for myself and my
family. It is with a grateful heart that I say, I am so happy that I
made the decision to step out on faith and start this new journey in
Entrepreneurship. I can now travel more, live the lifestyle of my
dreams and make lasting memories with my family because I will now have
more time freedom, financial freedom and personal freedom to do so.
You
must be willing to look beyond the person you have been to reintroduce
